Operations Assistant
This role is ideal for individuals passionate about shipping, looking to support and grow within a wider Operations team.
The Operations Department is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of our 29 Vessel Tanker and Container fleet. The Department maintains, close liaison with the Owners, Commercial Managers, and Technical & Vetting Departments, Charterers and Masters, ensuring effective coordination and compliance with Company procedures and regulatory requirements, reporting directly to the Owners and the Managing Director.
Essential Requirements
Fluent in English; teamwork and communication skills are a must.
UK Passport / Work Visa Holder
Preferred Requirements
Maritime specific work experience 1-2 years
And/or
Graduate of Maritime Studies
Desirable Characteristics
Strong organisational and multitasking abilities
Basic understanding of international maritime regulations
Interest in general vessel operations, included but not limited to vessel efficiency, and emission controls
Core Tasks and Activities
Assist vessel operators as required with below tasks.
- Itinerary / Position Book Updating
- Handling the operating systems and supporting their development, e.g. Shipnet, &
- Vessellink to ensure they are updated and accurate with the necessary information.
- Communicating with relevant internal stakeholders concerned in Operations, such as Owner’s office, Internal Teams, Masters.
- Assist Operators with tracking and recording of Stevedore damages & bonuses
- Assist Operators with preparation of voyage statements for EU ETS
- Assist with control of operating costs, including port charges, and bunker prices.
- Preparation of data for analysis as required by Operations team.
- Other tasks as instructed by Managing Director, Operations Manager or Operators.
Vessel Operator / Junior Vessel Operator
This role is ideal for individuals with experience in the commercial/operational side of the shipping industry. Either directly from another Operations role, a Deck Officer working on Tanker/Container looking to come ashore, or an individual with specific Marine Operations Degree/Qualification.

Core Tasks and Activities
- Involved in day-to-day operational activity of the vessels
- Regular contact with vessels Masters & Chief Engineers
- Support commercial departments with vessel fixture for TC & Spot
- Ensure voyages are carried out as per CP
- Assist with Charter party clauses as required
- Assist with stowage plans and vessel intakes
- Environmental compliance decision making, such as EU ETS & Fuel EU, CII
- Brief Owners & Senior Management on Operational issues as required.
- Coordinate with relevant internal stakeholders, Technical, QES, Purchasing , Crewing, IT
- Act as the primary 3rd party facing contact for Brokers and Charterers.
- Off Hire defence and calculation
- Bunker Buying & Coordination including appointing surveyors
- In charge of rebilling and close-out of Stevedore damage & bonuses
- Submit voyage statements as required to Charterers
- Assist with control of operating costs, including port charges, and bunker prices.
- Analyse data, to find operational efficiency improvements for the fleet.
- Handle P&I claims for the vessels as required
- Advise on Tank Cleaning / Special Cargo (Container)
- Instruct vessels, with voyage instructions as required
- Coordinate repairs with technical department
- Monitor vetting performance
- Coordinate Hull Cleaning
- Other tasks as instructed by Managing Director, Operations Manager.
Trainee HSEQ Superintendent

Role & Responsibilities Your duties will include:
- Understudy the duties of the HSEQ Superintendent in preparation for promotion to that position.
- Carry out Projects as assigned by Senior Management.
- Coordination of vetting activities and maintaining vetting records.
- Perform shipboard audits to achieve and maintain accreditation in accordance with legislative requirements.
- Assisting with accident and/or incident investigations and preparing associated report(s).
- Provide limited cover for HSEQ Superintendents during periods when they are travelling on business or during holiday periods.
- Assist in ensuring Company vessels are operated safely in compliance with local and international regulatory and statutory maritime frameworks such as but not limited to: ISM, ISPS, MLC, MARPOL, etc.
- Responding to and closing out near miss reports as required.
- Reviewing risk assessments and updating as required.

NB: The role of the Trainee HSEQ Superintendent consists of being part of a highly motivated group, responsible to the HSEQ Manager, assisting the HSEQ Superintendents regarding marine operations and safety matters, providing marine support to the Technical Superintendents as required.
